While this might have been a worthy project if it had, in fact, been carried out with more accurate authenticity, rather than just being "based on" the tragic circumstances of the real Alice, the film might have had a chance to have been a solid film. Unfortunately, the current interpretation is lacking in several areas. The cast, headed by Kede Palmer, is more than competent, but the editing, storyline and continuity suffer far too much from inconsistency, and a lack of logic. Yes, Alice lived virtually under a rock on her plantation, but at some point, it might have occurred to her to ask other people what was going on in the outside world.
