A Loose Sequel to Malibu Express
13 October 2022
This film essentially begins with two female pilots named "Donna" (Dona Speir) and "Taryn" (Hope Marie Carlton) flying a young couple to a scenic island where they hope to spend a few hours together. Also in the cargo hold of their airplane is a giant snake that they're supposed to deliver at another location as well. At any rate, once they land on the scenic island, both Donna and Taryn are shocked to find themselves in the middle of a transaction involving stolen diamonds. Fortunately, being quick witted, they manage to grab one of the small pouches and get airborne just before the smugglers catch up to them. Needless to say, the loss of his diamonds doesn't sit too well with the mob boss concerned and he immediately sends his thugs to ruthlessly terminate the two young ladies and bring the diamonds back to him. Adding even more danger for all concerned is the fact that the giant snake they were in the process of transporting is extremely venomous--and it has managed to escape. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this turned out to be much worse than I initially expected due in large part to the rather pedestrian dialogue and some really poor acting. Admittedly, there were several attractive actresses involved in this picture with Cynthia Brimhall (as "Edy") along with the aforementioned Dona Speir and Hope Marie Carlton all adding to the beautiful local scenery. Unfortunately, none of them could overcome the faults mentioned previously and I have rated this movie accordingly. Below average.
