Underrated sequel

Warning: Spoilers
This is one movie of the series not many like. I even don't like it as much the first two movies prior to it and Bride of Chucky which followed few years later. However, this movie is still preferable to Don Mancini's Seed of Chucky.

Although this movie was released one year after Child's Play 3, timeline jumps years ahead as Andy Barclay in his late teens and actor Alex Vincent is replaced. The military academy isn't quite an ideal setting for a horror movie especially some characters are stereotypical from the strict commandant Cochrane (who eventually gives Andy Barclay a chance), there's scaredy cat nerd Whitehurst and I hate the instructor Shelton who's a militant brat with a habit of enjoying hazing the new or weaker recruits.

Young guy Tyler is okay even though bit irrationally naive even doubting Andy about Chucky. Andy got new love interest who stands up to Shelton and does push-ups. The barber Botnick quite a insane character played by Andrew Robinson (Larry Cotton of Hellraiser) really keen doing his job.

Some of the kills are not brilliant with garbage truck driver and off-screen one with carnival security guard. And there's when Whitehurst sacrifices himself by onto the grenade.

My favourite, and foremost, moment in this movie is when Cochrane gets startled by Chucky with knife only accidentally suffer a fatal heart-attack which Chucky is very displeased with, hahaha. It's like unintentionally caused a murder where one easily get away with.

Overall, bit a low average movie to me.
