Bury Me High (1991)
6/10
Typical Wisely movie

BURY ME HIGH is another Hong Kong fantasy adventure in the Wisely series - although Chin Kar Lok isn't really my idea of the comic book hero, best portrayed by Waise Lee (of course) or Chow Yun Fat. Here, he's a youthful hacker operating out of Los Angeles who gets invited on a visit to Vietnam to visit a rare burial site that's the keystone for feng shui. The back story is pretty weird, as is the opening sequence, but we do get a spotlight on Chinese traditions and beliefs which is always interesting. It's pretty slow in the middle but picks up for a lively battle climax complete with mucho ass-kicking from both Yuen Wah and Moon Lee.
