While a starving Al stays at home waiting for a pizza to be delivered, Peggy and Marcy go dancing. Peggy meets a man called Andy, who she believes is flirting with her. In reality, Andy is gay but enjoys socialising and dancing, while his more domesticated husband Pete prefers to stay at home. Worried that Andy might be trying to replace him with a woman, Pete goes to see Al for help. Al is impressed by the fact that Pete has a job, loves sport and can cook, just like a wife should, and after Pete treats him to a steak dinner and cake, Al agrees to deal with the situation concerning his wife and her dance partner.
This a solid episode: Kelly looks amazing in a red top and short skirt, Bud has a date with a 'tramp' (Al approves and gives his son $20), and Marcy acts like a floozy with a sailor. The inclusion of a same-sex couple was remarkably progressive for a sitcom in 1990, and while Al still makes some hilariously un-PC remarks about Pete and Andy's relationship, he's not nearly as judgmental as one might imagine.
