Great spy caper.

This is what people mean when they say, "they don't make 'em like this anymore." Well crafted top to bottom, deeply cinematic, and totally engrossing, we follow Burt Lancaster as CIA agent Cross, and his protege Jean Laurier, portrayed by Alain Deloin. Returning from a recent job to Washington DC, complications arise which may test their loyalty. Director Michael Winner does a great job balancing light and serious, and makes a great caper film. This is a light film, with no twist being too serious, nor deep, but everything makes sense and is a pleasure to watch. Supporting cast does a fine job, but this often feels like Burt Lancaster's show. Saying any more plot-wise would be a disservice. This is a great guy film, a great Saturday afternoon film, a great spy feature. Great escapism and definitely recommended.
