One story libe was fine (Alzheimer's) because that DOES affect many families, but not ONE family member (especially one that loved cooking and followed that career path) NOT remembering anything about a recipe that was served EVERY Christmas for decades, is a bit of a stretch. NOT bad acting, but the casting was absurd- the young doctor & grandson/brother should've switched characters. Beau Bridges? Italian? C'mon! GOOD casting would've been Joe Mantegna or Tony Danza. A crucifix over the stove? Where do producers and directors come up with these ideas? That's just plain silly! Before watching I correctly predicted the "lost" scene, the "finding of the recipe", and the mispronunciation of Italian phrasing. Typical cookie cutter formula...Disappointing. Lastly, they never mention the town, but the car license plates were from Pennsylvania.
