Maybe this could have been an ok TV-show if they had not used the Hardy Boys "brand". But as it is I found it absolutely absurd and unwatchable about halfway into the first episode.
This has absolutely no resemblance to the books (atleast not the original ones, which is the ones I've read) apart from some of the names used.
The age difference between the boys in this is obviously more than the year it is in the books, and to me the actor who plays Joe is/looks too young and with Frank it's the opposite which makes the difference seem even worse.
Also they've basically decided to kill off the boys mother to suit their story just to replace her with Aunt Trudy (Aunt Gertrude) and then add a grandmother (which in reality resembles Aunt Gertrude a lot more)
And of course "Biff" is suddenly a girl and Chet is definitely not fitting into his former description.
