I really didn't imagine a "happy ending", we are all brothers fighting for france, and the victim's "color" doesn't matter.
Those people were forced to fight for a country other than theirs, and they promise them a beautiful life where they'll be equal to native french people, and look at them just now :) That happy ending was not an option! It's either you make a movie relating the facts and letting people feel the struggle, or you don't even dare exploit the subject ! You can't treat a subject like this one while forcing yourself to stay "diplomatic" and being afraid to hurt france's feelings :)
