Review of National Lampoon's Van Wilder

I've heard so much about this movie throughout the years I knew I would have to give it a go someday, and that day was today. Watching this 21 years later, it's exactly what I expected a teen comedy from the early 2000s featuring a young Ryan Reynolds to be. It's not really original, utterly predictable, mostly vulgar with a few actual good jokes sprinkled throughout the tasteless ones. It really is a product of its time though and I have a feeling I would have found it a lot funnier if I had seen it back then. And if so the nostalgia that would come with a re-watch might make it more enjoyable.
