It's light, fun, take-a-break, simple pleasure. Utterly predictable, but the trip there is enjoyable. I don't think a lot of people understand what this kind of movie is even supposed to be. It's not supposed to be deep. It's not supposed to challenge you. It is pure, light escapism without a lot of drama and a happy ending, an excellent cast, and a lot of charm. If your stressed out after a rough day and just need a couple hours of *simple* fun, you'll like this one. The movie was what it was supposed to be and it did it very well. To put it simply, this is a movie, not a film and if you don't get difference then you should probably watch something else. If you want deep philosophical questions, social commentary, "big" questions, then watch Grapes of Wrath, or Blade Runner or any number of serious films. If you want to forget about all that crap for a couple hours, this is a great choice.
