Yevadu (2014)

It's actually a twin bill with an epilog

Here's what you need to know for committing nearly three hours to this action flick: 1 - There are two sequential interlocking stories starring the same hero against different sets of crime lords in different cities via a fairly unique bridge. That's why the first a-hole is dealt with when your watch tells you half of the running time is still ahead.

2 - Ram Charan is a worthy successor to guys like Ajay Devgn and John Abraham who cranked out plenty of similar action flicks before him. Got the looks; got the moves; projects the integrity to stand alone against oppressors and their hordes of minions, inspiring the oppressed.

3 - If you're also a pushover for those man vs. Mob fight sequences with slo-mo and stop-motion highlighting, this one delivers in fine style, with a generous display of blood and gore.

4 - More eye candy in the production numbers than usual - especially thanks to relatively revealing costumes in the first half. Lovely women gracing a pair of romantic subplots. Supporting cast includes many who add considerable heart and/or occasional chuckles to the proceedings.

5 - A few of the villains chew too much scenery, but not badly enough to ruin the package.

6 - Overall, more story and action than many films of comparable length. Not a classic, but you've probably sat through worse. I certainly have.
