I sat down to watch the 2023 Animated movie "Mummies" with my son. I had actually not heard about the movie prior to watching it, so I had no idea what I was in for here. But I figured I would give it a fair chance.
Writers Jordi Gasull and Javier López Barreira put together a fair enough script for the movie. However, I have to say that my son enjoyed the movie way more than I did. So on that account, then "Mummies" is definintely something for the younger audience. The storyline just never really caught my interest, and the characters were sort of flat.
The art style in "Mummies" was interesting and good, as was the animation itself. But then again, I've always had a fascination with all things ancient Egyptian. And I will say the attention to detail and the concept of the eqyptian setting was fun and interesting enough to make the animated movie watchable for me.
I wasn't familiar with the voices that brought life to the animated characters on the screen. But they did have a fair enough cast ensemble of voice actors here.
Having sat through director Juan Jesús García Galocha's 2023 animated movie "Mummies", I can check it off the list, though I have to say that I am not returning to watch it a second time.
