The nostalgia here is incredible. The sound effects are cringe af, the dialogue isn't great, and some of the acting is laughable but OMG is the nostalgia strong enough to carry it along.
The stunt work is mostly great, especially for the time, and there are so few other BMX-themed movies (like, what, maybe one other?) and it IS basically Nicole Kidman's first movie (nobody cares about Bush Christmas anymore) and it's cool to see some of the sights around Sydney the way they were back when I was a little tacker/ Well, ok, maybe not so little but I was still just a kid.
Honestly, it's worth a watch just to see how far Nic has come, and how far Aussie films have come. Shame there hasn't been another one like it, though.
