I should preface by saying.... I LOVE Modern Family -I cried when it ended😢 It is my go-to when I need a little comfort viewing and almost every time I re-watch I pick up on some brilliant little nuance to a joke that I'd previously missed. It takes a brilliant group of writers to create such a layered Universe. That's why I was a little shocked that I never realized the pretty big goof in this episode 'Bixby's Back' .... 😂 In Phil and Claire's sexy role play at the hotel bar Claire masquerading as Juliana slips Phil aka Clive her room key by placing it on the bar top and invites him upstairs... He accidentally grabs the key of the woman sitting next to them at the bar who had laid her card out while digging through her purse ... This leads to Phil staging his sexy rendezvous in the wrong hotel room.... As Claire and Phil are engaging in some flirty phone play they come to realize Phil is in room 702 .....when he should be in Claire's room 226...!!! At that moment the woman from the bar walks in to find a scantily clad Phil seductively displayed on the rose petaled bed.... BUT HOW DID SHE GET IN? She should not have been able to just walk right in😂 Phil had her key... one would assume she grabbed the only key left on the bar...Claire's key ...which would not have worked...I suppose she could have tried the key and gotten a replacement from the front desk... but I feel like Phil would have heard her trying to get in ....??? Dangit!!!! I always thought this was such a funny 'That would only happen to Phil' moment.... but now the whole episode is ruined for me 😂 How did that make it past all of the continuity checks and balances? 😂 I guess the same way I've seen this episode loads of times over the years and only now thought.... 'Wait......How?!'🤔😂
