Review of The Nurse

The Nurse (2023)
3/10
A Simplistic and Silly Way to Tell a Story
30 April 2023
This is a rather poorly done Danish series that has so many production faults. No hospital would allow the lax control of medication, particularly Morphine, to be so accessible in a medication room. Smoking, drinking and lighting candles in hospital rooms, where oxygen is administered just seems really over the top. The scene where the adrenaline syringe drops on the ground and is picked up and handed to the doctor was laughable. The lead actress constantly walks around with a very confused, almost quizzical look on her face. The constant close ups of her face, to the point where the very pores on the skin of her nose, proved distracting. The episodes are stretched out, and the whole story could have been told in two parts, certainly not four. There was a lost of silly, trite dialogue inserted to fill the time slots. This isn't any type of Scandinavian Noir, it's more like a very watered down drama that was made solely to create streaming content.
