Review of One True Loves

Of course the book will always be better, because you are taking an eight hour read and condescending it into an hour and a half movie. Had this been a mini series I think it would have worked better. The beginning of the movie was kind of confusing because the flashbacks weren't as clear as they were in the book. The book explored Emma and Sam's relationship more. During Emma and Jesse's the trip to Maine, the reader finds out more reasons why they've grown apart, and quite frankly, Jesse is a complete jerk. The book is mostly from Emma's perspective and never from Sam's. However, I can see why the screenwriters added the scenes where Sam is speaking to his students because it added comic relief, and made it a rom-com. All and all it was a fun movie, but I suggest reading the book.
