Fear of Death
14 May 2023
In the 30's, George R. "Machine Gun" Kelly (Charles Bronson), Howard (Jack Lambert) and Maize (Wally Campo) successfully robber a bank. George's nickname was given by his girlfriend Florence "Flo" Becker (Susan Cabot) when she gave a Thompson to him and he became obsessed by the gun. George is also a superstitious man that fears death and related symbols. After a botched bank heist, George's partner Michael Fandango (Morey Amsterdam) loses one arm in a car accident and Flo and George temporary move to the brothel of "Ma" Becker (Connie Gilchrist) to use as a hideout. Now George and Flo plan the kidnapping of the nine-year-old girl of a wealthy man to raise money to travel abroad.

"Machine-Gun Kelly" is a low-budget gangster movie directed by Roger Corman. The film is not bad, but the use of the name of the notorious Machine-Gun Kelly should at least be based on true events, and not only his name and fictional situations and characters. Anyway, it is worthwhile watching for fans of gagsters movies. My vote is six.

Title (Brazil): "Dominados pelo Ódio" ("Dominated by the Hatred")
