At times "Nightmare Alley" reminded me of "The Grapes of Wrath" and "Elmer Gantry", two other movies which I didn't like.
Why this flick is considered a film noir is just beyond me.
I sure like Tyrone Power, but have seen better movies with him.
I also enjoy anything I had watched with Helen Walker so far (for instance "Call Northside 777" and "Impact"), but those few scenes with Helen Walker still don't make this a film noir.
I admit that the carnival/circus ambiente turned me off, I simply don't care for such movies with the exception of the Jack Palance TV series "The Greatest Show on Earth" (which will be released on DVD in Germany this year in August/September).
