There's no way the ending wasn't tacked on. It feels so unresolved and makes zero sense.
I really wanted to like this movie, and outside of a few rumors, I avoided all reviews and spoilers until I saw it myself. The rumors about it feeling disjointed and a sudden shift/disconnected ending were completely true. If you want to see a resolved story, you will be disappointed.
I don't know what they were thinking, but they've completely missed the mark. The contrived story, lack of understanding of the fan base when they try to give us fan service and humor that misses the mark is too much to overcome.
