Lopez vs. Lopez (2022– )
9/10
Funny Show, great writing, great cast chemistry!
9 July 2023
This is a great show, and the only TV show I watch on broadcast television. It has excellent writing and you can tell that the writers are either really Cuban and/or Mexican, or have a deep understanding of the different latino cultures. The storylines are rich and the comedy writing is top notch. None of the great writing would be enough if it wasn't for the fantastic cast. There is wonderful chemistry between the cast members and they really seem like family, and even though George is the star, the strong performances by Mayan, Selenis, Brice and Al make the show fun to watch, and my favorite is Matt Shively who plays Quinten, what a funny dude!

Overall it's a great show with "real" characters. George's character is cringy at times, but a real person. I'm a little younger than George, but when I see him, he reminds me of my best friend, a total degenerate and terrible dad, but with redeeming qualities of deep down inside being a good person who has learned from his previous mistakes. Nobody's perfect. There shouldn't be criticism of the writing of his character, but of recognizing that this type of person is real. And there is something in every character that a viewer can find something to relate to.

Big thumbs up to the proper Latino representation. I love how Selenis' curves and big butt are proudly displayed. She's hot! I love that there are diverse actors and with every kind of look. These are your friends and family on this show, not the typical "model" look.

I hope there are many more seasons to come. Can't wait for season 2.
