Jeff Speakman came onto the movie scene and did exactly what he needed to do...he brought something new to the table. JCVD brought the splits, Seagal came with Aikido, Speakman gave the masses stick fighting.
It see it raised from time to time why didn't Speakman crack the big time? To be honest I don't really know, perhaps his persona was a little bland for the time. His fighting was great but at the time there were other entertaining fighters who were all also quite quirky.
The movie fits the times well enough, not so much of a stand out. Its the fights that set The Perfect Weapon apart. Speakman is able to deliver the unique show that viewers were looking for.
