Eric Roberts' Most Memorable Performance
27 August 2023
This is a well made and disturbing biopic about the rose to fame and tragic death of playmate, Dorothy Stratten. The film is more a biopic of her husband and murderer, Paul Snider. Eric Roberts gives his best, most convincing, and most disturbing performance in this role. He reminds me of Robert DeNiro in "The King of Comedy"-a guy who has no sense of how people perceive him. Mariel Hemingway is actually quote innocent and charming in this film. She is not as beautiful, or charming, as the real thing, but she does a good job. Cliff Robertson is good as Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy. Its a good and upsetting watch.
