This was taken from the big list of 'best time-travel movies' that I found a while back ... and to say this is amongst the best is a bit of a stretch. Not that it's bad - it's just very obviously a cheaply made TV movie.
The cast are all pretty good - although the lead character starts off as a total jerk with little to no redeeming qualities whatsoever - and the story's not at all bad either. The cause of the loop is kind-of explained but the reason for his remembering the loop is not.
The movie very obviously draws on the usual tropes ... setting up coffee spills and the like so that he can use these the next day.
The ending is a bit weird too. They get arrested and that's it?!? Are we to assume that they get cleared and live happily ever after ... or that somehow the evidence is deleted and they spend a very long time in jail? :)
Final thought ... the robot alarm clock was veeeeery cool.
