The animated show is good. It feels like it was made by fans of the books. The live action show does not.
WoT is too epic for live action. A better way to do WoT would be simultaneous spin off Anime shows for Rand, Elaine, Moraine, etc. Each main character gets their own anime show in the universe. That is the only way to cover the amount of material in the book series in a reasonable amount of time.
WoT books have an Eastern feel that would go good with anime. Stuff with the power and the monsters and the different races and everything would be easier to animate. People complain about race being a thing in the live action, but in the books race and gender were very much things. Rand was clearly a different race than anyone in civilized society, worldly people everywhere could recognize 'what' Rand was (racially) and would view him as a savage. In WoT world there are many races and stereotypes. Anyway, that's a distraction I wouldn't have brought up if I didn't see it in so many reviews.
