Long live the Javis

Warning: Spoilers
I am certain that this series will mark a before and after in Spanish fiction. An atypical series for atypical creators but that speaks of a theme as typical as it is universal... loneliness... and even more so, loneliness within one's own family, the loss (or rather the theft) of innocence and the importance of communication and expression of feelings and an education away from extremes as strange as they are dangerous.

Love continues to be the center of all the stories of Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo and perhaps in 'La Mesías' it finds its maximum catharsis in the characters of Enric and Irene standing in a fair for the first time in their lives (a moment that reminded me so much to the pirate ship in 'Primos' by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo).

A remarkable series in many aspects (photography, art direction, soundtrack...) but the great talent of Los Javis lies in the direction of actors, especially in their actresses... the sublime Mother in all her incarnations, Macarena García better than ever, but what they do with the little girls is from another world, incredible everything they have achieved from them.

In short, a series to revisit several times, investigating its multiple layers and readings and which finds its moments of maximum brilliance in its chapters 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Long live the Javis.
