Plot
A young Jewish American man, with the help of an eccentric local, endeavors to find the woman who saved his grandfather during World War II in a Ukrainian village that was ultimately razed by the Nazis.
Cast
Written and directed by talented actor Liev Schreiber and usually consistent Elijah Wood
Verdict
I don't get it, I don't get the film, I don't get the appeal and how it's so well received. It's one of those quirky films like Little Miss Sunshine (2006) that I simply don't "Get" except that had a few merits whereas this I believe doesn't.
Is it a comedy? Where was the humour? I simply don't understand. This wasn't funny, the characters were deeply annoying.
Is it a drama? Where was that, I must have missed it? At no point did it feel this way nor did I care about the characters plights!
I don't get it, and I can't stress how much I disliked the whole experience.
Rants
Any possible rant I could do would probably see me with an IMDB ban.
Breakdown
Not funny Not engaging Not likeable.
