Review of House of Numbers

Russel Rouse was a very interesting director whose nearly all films were unique, if you watch closely every movie he offered us. THUNDER IN THE SUN, HOUSE OF NUMBERS, THE THIEF, THE WELL. Unfortunately, he made only ten movies and only a few TV episodes. This one is a riveting and guts grabbing piece of work for the audiences, where there is no good or evil dudes. Great photography and of course amazing Jack Palance performances. I have rarely seen such unusual, impressive escape from jail topic. Faithfully inspired from a Jack Finney's novel, from whom we already saw on screen FIVE AGAINST THE HOUSE and ASSAULT ON A QUEEN. Lesser tales for my taste.
