(1949) Cover Up
CRIME MYSTERY DRAMA
Co-written and starring Dennis O'Keefe, he plays an insurance agent, Sam Donovan visiting on a case what was supposed to be a suicide. And upon Sam visiting the town's sheriff, Larry Best (William Bendix), he finds he is not being entirely cooperative. Along the train ride, he also meets a young lady, Anita Weatherby (Barbara Britton) he is attracted to who was visiting her family. And he meets the family who were waiting for her, while Sam was helping her with her luggage and packages. It is soon revealed that Sam's client did not exactly commit suicide but may have been murdered. And upon his investigation, he finds that besides the sheriff much of the townspeople are also uncooperative, especially after finding out that the weapon his client was killed from was from a particular gun, called the Luger.
This is my second viewing for I needed to re-watch it again for this review. I like watching this movie every time I forget what it was about.
