"Every man's life is important"

Warning: Spoilers
Maciste goes undercover to prevent the dethronement of Queen Thalima of Mersabad, tangling particularly with several nefarious gladiators who are part of the conspiracy. A lively peplum with Mark Forest in good form as the mighty Maciste, a bright smile on his face and a brace of big biceps. The supporting cast are fine. The fights are well staged (and sometimes gory), standouts being a big brawl in a tavern and one between Maciste and Dan Vadis as Sidon under a thundering waterfall. There are some comic moments that are a little tedious but they don't mar the film really. The movie looks great in 'Totalscope' and the costumes plausible. The prolific Francesco De Masi supplies a sweeping musical score just right for the action or romance. I enjoyed the film.
