This has got to be one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. The last bad movie I can remember was Aquaman 2, and even that had a more coherent storyline than whatever this was.
It had potential to be a good movie, but the story was all over the place. After seeing the ending, I still don't understand the foundation of their love. Okay they both went to the same orphanage, okay he kept her necklace, and okay he held her hand while she was being tortured. But from one scene alone, that happened when they were both children, how are we supposed to understand their love for each other?
And this is not even a simple crush level of love. No, he is so madly in love with her, to the point of beating up every other person that says a bad word about her. There are even three smut scenes. But since I didn't have a clue of the reason they love each other so much, these scenes felt so out of place. It kind of feels like a badly written Wattpad fanfiction.
Speaking of scenes that felt out of place, the SA scene was probably the worst of all. I get that SA does not require any sort of relation between the victim and abuser, but the script so explicitly stated that Lionel was obsessively 'in love' with her, and we did not get to see any of that. Some crazy obsessive looks at their school would have done, but just a 'date' at the ice cream shop where they barely said a word to each other? The scene where they were on a bridge running away from Lionel driving at them made me laugh even more. Bro was driving so slowly and they were running so slowly... And then jumping into the water while there is barely a threat... To end on a good note though, the actors were beautiful.
