A Story of Faith & Family
28 April 2024
I have been a fan of Rebecca St. James for almost two decades now and was eager to see the story of her family on the screen. I was nervous that the film wouldn't live up to my expectations, but it ended up surpassing them.

We see the Smallbone family living a comfortable life in Australia with father David trying to make a name for himself as a concert promotor. When faced with a failing economy and poor financial decisions, he loses everything. What follows is the story of the family's journey to America and their efforts to support each other as they begin a new life.

This is a well-written, well-directed, and well-acted film. We see characters who are very human, trying to counter pride with humility, fear with faith, and doubt with confidence. The strongest aspect of this film is its focus on family. It reminds us that we cannot and should not try to get through our struggles alone.
