A little too long for its own good

Warning: Spoilers
The movie starts like the rave reviews say: funny, quirky, thought provoking, and it even gets the science kind of right. It's peppered with cutely legit questions ("... but where did the football come from?"), and the characters are all dead pan funny. A delight to watch.

Then the movie starts smashing together supreme beings, black holes, the Simulation - and for me, the level of nonsense slowly started overpowering the comedy. I was hoping for a redeeming finale that would tie it together, but alas, it never came. I feel like if a big chunk of the second half of the movie ended up on the edit room floor, the movie would have been better for it.

Sam Dunning (the main character) delivers a great performance, and the scenes where different versions of Tim Travers are interacting are put together masterfully.
