Christmas Evans, a one-eyed, ragged and unhinged Welsh preacher conducts a sin eating service for the dead son of a local, wealthy family. But when the sin eater fails to appear, the service descends into chaos. The film is inspired by the historical tradition of sin eating in Carmarthenshire.
