Like all red-blooded American men, overweight stage comic Frank McIntyre (as Norman "Dimples" Dalrymple) wants to join The Great War (later dubbed "World War I") effort. Alas, Mr. McIntyre is rejected by the U.S. military as "Too Fat to Fight" the Germans. Eager to work out the problem and trim the fat, McIntyre joins the Y.M.C.A. Obviously able to throw his weight around, the still heavy McIntyre manages to make the cut. Alas, in the Army, he becomes the butt of jokes. Eventually, McIntyre proves his mettle. He is admired for uncommon courage, and wins the heart of pretty nurse Florence Dixon (as Helen Brewster). Unfortunately, war-weary audiences weren't interested in comedies about the ending battle, and "Too Fat to Fight" went A.W.O.L.

**** Too Fat to Fight (12/1/18) Hobart Henley ~ Frank McIntyre, Florence Dixon, Harold Entwistle, Jack McLean
