One of the best of the McGowan/Holmes movies!

Warning: Spoilers
For those who delight in railroad sagas, this one should not be missed. As usual in J.P. McGowan's contributions to this genre, he was given a free ride over a real railroad. In fact, our producer/director (and husband of popular star, Helen Holmes) even plays the driver of the rescue train very convincingly and is on screen for at least five minutes! The other players are not lacking in interest either and it's certainly a real surprise to find our hero, Jack Perrin as Vincent Barton, thoroughly beaten up in a fist fight with a trio of rough-house lads led by Harry Tenbrook. In fact, Barton is a Clayton's hero if ever there was one. Fortunately, his role is comparatively small. He's in the movie simply to set the plot in motion, so that Helen Holmes -- and even director McGowan himself -- can speed to rescue a passenger express headed for a fatal crash with a freight train. Will they get there in time? You'll have to see the movie to find out. It's now available on a very good Grapevine DVD.
