Violence & Gore

  • The army chef is an intimidating man. He vows that if he ever sees Stan and Ollie again, he'll use his butcher knife on them.
  • When L&H request a loan for their "catering business", the president laughs it off, saying that to approve such a loan, he'd have to be unconscious. Immediately, a stone busts falls on his head and knocks him out.
  • When Stan and Ollie tell who they think is Eddie's father that they have his granddaughter, he assumes it's blackmail and punches Ollie.
  • Stan and Ollie accidentally stir up trouble at a man's wedding. They're looking for Eddie Smith's parents, and by sheer coincidence, the bridegroom is named Eddie, so when the boys say they have "Eddie's baby", the man's father angrily chases him around. When the father of the bride finds out that the boys made a mistake, he chases them out with his Winchester rifle.
  • The chef meets up with the boys at the end of the film...and he's got his knife.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There's one scene where a husband and wife argue and the husband beats the wife up, but behind a closed door. We just hear the fight. This scene has been trimmed out from certain versions, but it is in the Laurel & Hardy Essential Collection.
  • Also the husband and wife aren't very nice to the girl they are watching, acting all grumpy. After the wife runs out the girl is crying and the husband tells her, "You're to blame for all this."
  • In addition the scene where Laurel & Hardy beat Richard Cramer up is longer in the 68 minute version. Richard Cramer yells out the window for assistance, and Laurel & Hardy are forced back up into the apartment. Stanley uses the tea kettles to pour boiling water on these bad guys.
  • In addition there are some shorter/lighter suggestive scenes in this 68 minute version. The cut version runs 62 minutes long.
