Mildly Amusing, Though Predictable
Snow Leopard18 July 2001
"No Sleep on the Deep" is a mildly amusing short comedy that centers on tangled shipboard romances. It offers a few laughs, although it takes a little too long to set things up and is mostly predictable. The idea is that a Romeo on an ocean liner has caused grief for all of the husbands on the ship, so they look for ways to retaliate. One husband whose wife's affections have been estranged by the playboy decides to impersonate him, while several other men make plans to corner the playboy and horsewhip him. It leads to some pleasant confusion, though the situations are mostly predictable. It's nothing special, but not bad either.
