Scientists in Africa. Uh oh. There goes the neighborhood.
mark.waltz24 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not to mention bears, a species of animal that hadn't been a native of Africa in any part since the 17th century. Basically it's about a group of scientists who go to Africa to investigate the effects of the meteorite that fell and it's impact on animal life. So what starts off as an interesting complex becomes silly and frequently laughable as it's nothing more than a bunch of stock footage of wildlife, some of it not native to the setting, and views of stereotypical natives, one of whom has an operatic singing voice.

Directed by king of the B's Christy Cabanne, this stars Ona Munson, Stuart Erwin, and Peggy Moran, and it's obvious that they didn't take the parts because they would get a free trip to Africa. This is ridiculously studio bound with laughably bad costumes for the natives, hysterically cliched dialogue, and barely anything resembling a plotline. Definitely made for preteen boys or fans of the classic serials, this fortunately flies by at an hour. Very obscure and difficult to find, and certainly not one worth spending a lot of money to get a copy of.
