Witness to murder, and now a target!

Warning: Spoilers
Good production values from Columbia's B western unit, a believable plot and speedy action makes good for a short Charles Starrett western. It's your standard good vs evil plot over stolen money and place to put a dam in that would impact local farmers. Alma Carroll witnesses the shooting that Starrett is accused of, and getting a hold of the money that the bad guys want, Carroll ends up in danger. Starrett and his sidekick, Arthur Hunnicutt, go out of their way to protect Carroll and discover corruption while doing so. Plenty of action is interrupted on occasion by a few pleasant songs, aiding in a passable run time of just under an hour. Hunnicutt provides typical comic relief. Noah Beery is the judge. Look closely for Lloyd Bridges as one of the gang.
