Good Movie With Funny Situations
MovieGuy-1092430 July 2022
Totò is amazing and I appreciate him more and more as time goes on. However, some of his movies can be hit or miss. This one is a hit, if not quite a grand slam.

Totò and Fabrizio have a great chemistry in this film. Their characters are at odds, but the situations happening around them make their interactions fun, and their interactions make some of the situations around them even crazier.

There are wonderful subplots involving misunderstandings that add greatly to the story and to the movie.

If you want to see a good movie with Totò, this would be a good choice.

satire of the "tax-fear"
madrig8024 January 2004
One day the most terrible nightmare of Mr.Pezzella (Toto'), owner of a chic boutique, comes true: the incorruptible tax inspector Topponi (Aldo Fabrizi), pays him a visit...and their troubles begin. Following the advice of his tax consultant (Luis de Funes), Pezzella tries unsuccessfully to become a friend of Topponi and avoid the prohibitive penalty he should pay.

I tartassati ("Over-taxed" ) is an excellent, extremely funny satire of the all-Italian desire to avoid paying taxes. Not an artsy movie but certainly an underrated one.
