Hyperactive train ride
ulf-635-5233676 October 2015
A train journey represents a tension-building arena. Specially if you intend to have a large number of participants killed. This is a Sjöwall/Wahlöö script. Trying to argue that the murderer is among us. Could be your or me. An odd and intriguing ensemble of men and women. Hyperactive acting and editing. Not a quiet moment. And a strange mix of comedy and thriller. Some forced nudity. Kinky at times. With prejudice, the film describes deviant sexual behavior A couple of train passengers are also reported to have been treated at a mental hospital. Allan Edwall, Heinz Hopf, and Erik Hell stands out. Unusually many good female roles. A typical Swedish film from the mid-sixties. "Mördaren is a consistently dispassionate and highly gross film". - Stig Björkman Chaplin.

One of Arne Mattssons several masterpieces

Sweden's by far most underrated filmmaker here delivers what would have been classed as a giallo if it had been made by an italian. It has a murder mystery, dark humour, kinky stuff, and a brilliant soundtrack. Of you can overlook one or two "lesser" acting efforts from a few minor characters you are in for a great trip. The twist att the end is brilliant.

One of Mattsons best along with the Hillman-movies, and Vaxdockan.
