"A Few Notes on Our Food Problem" discusses the issue of how to feed a growing world population. Watching it half a century later, we can discuss other things related to food. One thing to understand is that there's enough food, but the wealthy hoard it, and a large amount of it goes to waste. In "Dreams from My Father", Barack Obama noted that his then-pastor Jeremiah Wright pointed this out.*

But even beyond that, using chemicals on food makes insects resistant to the chemicals, creating superbugs. People have been growing food for millennia without problems, so why not listen to them?

Otherwise, the Academy Award-nominated documentary is worth seeing as an introduction to food issues that affect people.

*Wright drew controversy for a speech that got replayed on the news. Obama defended the speech, noting the points that Wright was making. Wright fell from grace following a later, meaner speech.
