Producer Wolf C. Hartwig and his Rapid Film were supposed to go to Hong Kong once again to shoot one of the tried and tested thrillers there. But after more than a decade of success with the German Adventure Flicks, the air was now noticeably out. Screenwriter Herbert Reinecker and director Jürgen Roland were there again, but they couldn't save this messed up film either.
Lead actor Joachim Fuchsberger (1927-2014) was now too old for the leisurely fist fights and now embarrassing pick-up lines. The role was simply no longer taken away from him. The rest of the cast (Li Paelz, Arthur Brauss, the handsome Jimmy Shaw) also looked quite passable, but failed to remain memorable. Very bad: Veronique Vendell, the producer's new partner. A Dorothee Parker was made of completely different stuff. Tempi Passati! The time of the Hong Kong rip-offs was simply over.
The real hits were now produced by the Hong Kong film studios with their own stories. The success continues - with interruptions - to this day.
