A comedy exposing all the myths of the West
lightninboy12 May 2005
I caught only part of This Is the West That Was on a cable television station quite a few years ago, but my impression of it was that it was a comedy exposing all the myths of the West. In other words, almost everything you think you know about the West has been greatly exaggerated and modified. And that could be true to some extent, and a comedy exposing myths of the West would be a great idea. In the part I caught, the hero is in a gunfight showdown on main street, and his opponent fans his .45 at him and misses him every time. The hero says in the end, "Did you ever try to fan a .45? You can't hit anything more than ten feet from you." And that's pretty much true.
