Sex & Nudity

  • Some explicit scenes where Philippe Noiret caresses the crotch of Isabelle Huppert under her dress, or she massages his crotch. Also many scenes where female characters wear only nighties, and a scene that takes place in a brothel where a prostitute is seen. Finally, a lot of explicit talk about sex takes place throughout the film.

Violence & Gore

  • Several murders by gunshots take place throughout the film. Some scenes can be shocking, with blood stains being shown.

Profanity

  • Profanity is a central aspect of the film. Morality, values and religious beliefs are being challenged throughout the film in a very cynical way, which can prove quite shocking to some people. (Analysis deleted.)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drugs, recreational: None
  • Some moderate alcohol consumption, and some cigarette smoking. However, this is very anecdotic in the film and does not convey much significance.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are no sudden, intense scenes. However, there is *much* intensity in a psychological way, since the film deals with a behaviour devoid of any morality or compassion.
