Fairly Shocking
SoapboxQuantez0819 May 2015
A death row inmate is hoping for a last-minute pardon by the governor, and is making amends with everyone he's known, in case it doesn't come through. This film is quite flawed: The picture has a soap-opera feel to it, the audio is below-par, and cameo performances are not what you'd expect from the stellar cast. Still, there's much to enjoy here, besides the obvious fact that this film is a curio for seeing Morgan Freeman and Jeff Fahey in such early roles. Laurie Metcalf (of Roseanne fame) gives a rather impressive/heartfelt performance ala Raymond's sister, as did the reporter who sets out to plead for Graham's life. Overall, an unforgettable film, worth-watching for Metcalf's performance alone, in my book.

Warning: Spoilers
Jeff Fahey as the condemned man who killed a teen clerk and is set to die by lethal injection and shows a man that had a chance to turn his life around but choose not to there and in the leaving his family and the teen clerk he killed.

They are sentenced to a life without parole but instead of bars, it is misery and shame. It shows the theater like in the two hours of his life slipping away and it is a life for a life thing.

Look for an unknown Morgan Freeman who would explode to stardom later on.

A slow paced, 80's TV movie.

This 1985 movie goes through a man's final hours before his execution. As he unsuccessfully tries to get a pardon, he makes amends with his family. I found it hard to get into and didn't think much of the acting. It may have set the stage for movies like Dead Man Walking.
