A remarkable film containing shocking and unforgettable imagery
riddley-22 May 2003
This remarkable Hungarian film contains some of the most shocking and unforgettable archival images you're likely to see anywhere. It's a truly despairing and devastating portrait of humanity that you'll find yourself talking about long after you see it. I saw it at the New York Film Festival but the screening was interrupted when the pungent odor of gasoline filed the theater and we all quietly fled for our lives. Sadly I never saw how it ended but the bizarre screening was certainly in keeping with the anarchy and nihilism that inspired the film. Not for the faint of heart but highly recommended if you can ever find it.
