Sex & Nudity

  • A young boy shows whippings on his buttocks
  • When the police are searching a man's home and going through a box of notes he wrote to his wife, it is implied that the letters contain amorous language

  • A squad of police gun down a group of unarmed children
  • A man is strapped to a chair and waterboarded
  • A man visits a funeral home to see the body of his dead friend. The body is covered with wounds
  • A young African is brutally tortured by the police. His face completely covered with blood, and his nose is broken as well as two of his ribs. We see blood coming from his mouth and nose, and there are wires attached to his face implying they are giving him electric socks He is later shot in the back while "allegedly" trying to escape. (the reason it is rated R)

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • While the movie is violent in nature taking place during the 1980's apartheid, state of emergency. Where police arrested and tortured thousands of black people. The only part that is intense is the beating and killing of the young African man.
