Captures the Mood of Baltic people in 1990
edward-mantle15 May 2006
Events leading to the Independence of the Baltic countries. Contains footage of the death of two reporters/cameramen. In the version I saw there was no spoken narrative only subtitles with anecdotes from actual people. This was all that was needed to capture the mood of people in the three Baltic countries at this time. The Singing revolution in Latvia, The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania and the return of dead bodies from Siberia are all accurately recorded. Not easy viewing but essential if you want to know more about what actually happened. The first ten minutes (approx) is in Black and White with the remaining hour (approx) in colour with some archive material in Black and white. Overall, a well-balanced account.
